Make Google Money
I’ve read online about ‘posting links to Google’ in order to make money. While there is some truth to this, lets consider how realistic the offer from most of these sites really is.
A few things many of these sites rant on:
- Making 5,000 a month
- Bought a Range Rover
- Bought a Ferrari
- Bought a new yacht
Its easy to rule out the last 3, the cheapest is a Range Rover that is the same year as a friends. I can tell you now, he makes far more than 5,000 a month (or a week for that matter) and its still a chunk of his bills. You have to do the math to see, but a 90,000 car will cost about 3,000 a month, not including service and maintenance packages. So its totally, incredibly, unrealistic that any of those things were purchased with the 5,000 a month income stated.
Now lets move on to the money. Can you make 5,000 posting links to Google? Yes, if your very very lucky.
Most people posting links to Google work about 30 minutes to an hour each night and make a few hundred dollars a month, far less than expected - actually about 1/10 of what is expected. There are no easy ways to make money in this world other than selling people ideas on how to make money. That’s why I’m not charging for this information
So you’ll work about 4 to 5 days a month worth of time on this effort and its going to make you a few hundred dollars, enough for a nice computer or tv, I use it to pay part of my rent. Still interested?
Your probably wanting me to just get on with it, so here’s the secret: AdSense. If you haven’t heard of AdSense, don’t be surprised as most people don’t know what it is. AdSense is a service offered by Google, it will let you have ads on your website that reflect the content on it. This is done by placing a small bit of Google code on your homepage such as:
<script type=”text/javascript”><!– google_ad_client = “pub-5088838588664284″; /* TWFU 160×600, created 3/29/09 */ google_ad_slot = “1041470432″; google_ad_width = 160; google_ad_height = 600; //–> </script> <script type=”text/javascript” src=”http://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/show_ads.js”> </script>
Once the code above is on your website, Google will know what ads to post on your site when you specify the channels, or markets, you are targeting. Now you just have to focus on the hard part.. Traffic.
In order to be successful - at all - you will need to have a blog or website with content that is rich, easy to read and useful to the visitor. Pick a topic and then write on that topic, this will give your viewers a feeling of centralized information to which they can return to. Another way to say it is that if you post on UFO’s one day, Politics the next and Cooking the third, you may lose viewers due to the sporadic information. I post some off-beat content from time to time but I try to keep it down around 10% of my site, that way the visitor clearly gets good information while only occasionally having to skip over something that doesn’t relate. Once you have made someone feel comfortable with the quality of your content, you can work on growth. Don’t be surprised if it takes 3 to 5 months just to build up daily traffic.
Building growth of your blog or website is not harder than developing the content for your site, but it takes just as long. I did lots of my marketing along with development, this helped me speed up the process. Here’s a few tricks to getting more traffic.
First some myths:
- My url in comments on good sites helps me.
- Posting my url on message forums will get me better Google rating.
- My domain has no history to change, making it better.
These are fake, Google ignores links in comments, forums are often not scanned for content and if your domain has no history it actually is worth less than one that has been authoritative for a long time.
Here’s a few true facts:
- Cross linking blogs brings user traffic.
- User traffic will help authorize your domain.
- User traffic is part of the way that you make the money.
While these are all fairly insignificant facts to what we’re talking about accomplishing, cross linking with other sites CAN help you get more traffic and that will fuel word of mouth. There’s a good and bad part to this but it depends on if you went through setting up good content as I described earlier in my post.
If you have good content and information, you will get a few people to return and tell friends about the site, this helps you get more traffic - which is a direct relation to making profits.
If you have not, you will have a few visitors, few returning visitors and you will likely not get the word of mouth which can be so crucial to a budding Internet professional of this type.
Lets assume everything is going right and you’ve used this guide to its fullest with your own creative nature.. Here’s how everything happens:
You write information about the topic you work in, lets pretend its Quality Cookware. You then have people who are reading your website about these topics, they are interested in them and tell friends. When everyone visits they are exposed to ads that had been previously targeted to things like Cookware, Cookbooks, Cooking Tips, ect. Some of those people will be interested in some of those ads, don’t be confused - its always some of some. When they click that ad, you will see a share of the profits. Google charges anywhere from .5 up to 2.00 per ad, depending on your sites content, amount of traffic and quality of information. You will see larger and better paying ads appear on your site with no work from you - other than upkeep of your sites content. Beyond that, Google sends a check when it reaches 100.00, or you can put it on hold and wait for the check to come in.
That’s it! Your now using Google AdSense to make money from Google on Ads - aka by ‘posting links on Google’
hello thank you so much for helping me with this i was having so much trouble with this $5000 a month thing. so you really made that money.. i am so sorry to tell you this but i didn’t exactly get all this .. can you please explain it to me in a short form on my yahoo id.. i will be really glad if you do so. i dont earn much a month so i defenetly need more money in order to take care of my family. please help me :]
THANK YOU .
On my last site with Wordpress topics, like this site but much smaller, I was making about 200.00 a month. Keep in mind that it took MANY months to build up that volume of traffic.
The most importiant thing to ask when starting this is - can I write well? In order to be a star and really make some, or really any money at this - you have to have valuable, original content!
I will be releasing a how-to guide for building a good blog, there’s TONS of information and it will cover most of the topics needed by anyone with some computer savvy skills.
Recently, there has been a good deal of inquiries by the
American FTC against bloggers and website developers
for not publishing their advertising revenue, or existing
connections with advertising agencies.
What are your ideas about how this could hurt
the blogging community?
Have a fantastic day!
I am truly impressed with the general subject matter of your blog. It is easy to see that you are fervent about your writing. If only I had your publishing ability I hope to find similar articles in the near future. Good luck.
I am genuinely impressed with the overall message of your blog. It is obvious that you know you topic and you are passionate about it. I wish I possessed your ability to write. I look forward to more updates and will be returning.
